The NE KCK Heritage Trail Project includes the planning and design of a physical trail bridging Historic Kaw Point to the Quindaro Townsite and highlighting the rich culture and history of NE KCK along its route.

Warm up at the Hot Chocolate bar! Free raffles and giveaways! Attend in-person, or provide your feedback online. We will be having people register to attend this event in smaller groups. Please visit the link.

For those that are unable to attend the event in person, Winter Fest materials as well as an online survey will be available to access here on Monday, March 7th.

We hope you’re planning to join us for our annual meeting on December 17th! The annual meeting will celebrate a year full of accomplishments in Northeast KCK, and will be taking place virtually due to the latest developments in the pandemic. We’ll be joined by a pianist, who will accompany the meeting with live music.

We're also pleased to announce that we’ve added a PlayStation 5 game console to the list of prizes for our Annual Meeting raffle! (Graciously donated by Nebraska Furniture Mart) 

Every $5 donated prior to 5:30 PM on Friday, December 17th will get you a ticket in our holiday raffle. Prizes include t-shirts, gift cards, shot glasses, and a PlayStation 5 game console (with Madden 2022 included). 

Not only is the PS5 one of the hottest items on the market this holiday season, but recently they’ve been nearly impossible to find. Even if you don’t plan to use it yourself, it will make an amazing gift for family or friends who are into the latest games.

Join us on November 16th as we introduce our two newest programs: the WiFi Hotspot & Computer Lending Library, and the Digital Equity Taskforce!

The hotspot & computer library will be launching a pilot soon with 10 hotspots and 10 Chromebooks available to check-out. Before we start loaning out devices, we want to hear your input on how to bring these devices to the community.

• Should a deposit be required before checking out a device?

• Should device check-outs be limited to KCK residents, or residents of a particular neighborhood?

These are the types of questions we are seeking feedback on at this Kick-Off meeting.

The Digital Equity Taskforce will follow a similar logic. Groundwork NRG is proposing to form a group of KCK residents, who will engage in outreach, research, and group learning to help support digital equity, inclusion, and access. Stipend money is available for those who wish to contribute their valuable time and expertise to this initiative. The membership and initial goals of the Taskforce have not been determined, and at this meeting there will be an opportunity to contribute your thoughts about what you think are the most important problems and solutions for a Taskforce of local residents to solve. We are also seeking Taskforce participants.

What is a Vaccine Funky Fest?

It is a community event planned by our summer program youth. It will have food, music, a raffle and free Vaccines. Everyone who gets vaccinated will get a gift card!

Everyone is welcome even if you don't want the vaccine.
