Annual Meeting (Q3 2020)
This year, our brand-new annual meeting format featured local chefs who walked us through three dishes to try as it gets colder outside (in addition to Groundwork NRG's usual annual report). Anna from Anna’s BLD Bistro showed us how to prepare a smoked salmon cheese dip to serve with crackers. Emily Brown, founder and CEO of the Food Equality Initiative, introduced us to her dairy-free, gluten-free mushroom sauce to serve over vegetables. And, finally, our very own Mayor gave us step-by-step instructions to recreate his famous pies.
Groundwork NRG is deeply grateful to the Merc Co-op for allowing our chefs to film in the Merc’s Community Kitchen. This demonstration space provides education to the community about nutrition, Northeast KCK businesses, COVID-19’s impact on the neighborhood, and resources in our area, all vital services that help sustain and revitalize our beloved Northeast KCK community. Groundwork NRG extends its profound thanks to Valerie Taylor, Marketing Director for the Merc, and Michael Coy of Walking Talking Pictures for their expertise and commitment to producing an incredible remote experience for us to share the holiday spirit while physically apart.
